Inspired by WE/ME projects. I still wanted to play a bit more under the same subject "MIRROR"

The fasnitation point of this theme is that, since this is all digital/virtual things, we can put a lot of visual effects onto our reflection. We can play with time, distortion, color adjustment and all, render it onto the mirror. The mirror that is always expected to tell us the truth, to reflect our own real reflection.

It leads to a qustion about reality. About perception, recognition and stuff.

about technical part ;

From the vid you'll see a fake button made by a normal black paper. This fake button worked as if it was real, to turn on and change my reflection on the mirror. By using a webcam to grab the button and pressing action, I can know if the fake button is touched or not. Then I used that signal of touching it to activate effects on the "mirror" (which in this case I only use computer's screen)

w h a t . i t . c o u l d . b e ?

Since the subject was about virtual mirror, we had an idea of playing it in the toilet which is the place of privacy and is the place everyone uses mirror the most.

The interaction area would be in front of the mirror (virtual one) inwhich their positions would be tracked by a telecamera from ceiling, right above the sink area. Also we wanted to play something with the sink. Maybe put some interactive object inserted with arduino which participants can play.

This project is actually one of my last stories with MAX/MSP. Right before I become a vvvvery obsessive user of vvvv !
